A 72-year-old grandfather, Liu Xianping, has become something of an internet sensation after he began modelling for his granddaughter’s online clothing store.

Liu’s granddaughter runs Yuekou, a partnership between herself and four other recent college graduates. While Liu was helping the girls unpack, “he picked up one piece and tried to give some advice on how to mix and match. We thought it was fun so we started shooting.”

“Why unacceptable (for someone like me) to wear women’s clothes? Modelling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to lose. We were very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all that I care about is to be happy.” — Liu Xianping

Ask yourself what you are worried about if same-sex marriage is legalized. Whatever your answer is, ask yourself if you really believe what you just came up with. Homosexuality is not going to spread. It is not communicable. Society is not going to turn into a Lady Gaga video. Most gay couples I know are just as boring as you and I. They sit on the couch and watch television. They work at the post office, the hospital, the grocery store, and at real estate agencies, just like heterosexuals do. They eat out at restaurants and shop at Target. Many have pot bellies and don’t have much fashion sense, just like me. They own pets, and go to church. They volunteer, sing Christmas carols, and buy Girl Scout cookies. What are you afraid of? What is going to change by allowing these people to commit to one another and enjoy the benefits that you and I enjoy: tax breaks, insurance breaks, bereavement leave, medical leave to care for a sick partner, domestic violence protection, visitation of partner in the hospital, burial determination, medical decisions on behalf of partner. Really sexy stuff. You and I take these things for granted. Nobody wants to go through life not knowing how they will deal with some of these difficult moments in life. Imagine if you were denied any of the above rights when the time came for you and your spouse to exercise that right? I’ll tell you what it would feel like. It would feel like you were a second-class citizen.

Well you know, she had the audacity to be the person who came after Rose, who left the show because Billie Piper wanted to.  And then shewasn’t Rose I mean what the hell is up with that?
And then she got a crush on a handsome man who was initially very kind and complimentary to her, held her hand, trusted her even though he just met her, put his life in her hands and oh, yes, kissed her.  I mean, who in their right mind would fall in love with a man who looked like David Tennant and did that to them?  Silly Martha.  And then he came back for her to ask her to come with him?  She clearly should never have thought that there was the possibility he might have liked her back.
She was also very smart, had a pretty good life outside the TARDIS, capable and strong on her own, generally did what the Doctor asked of her instead of wandering off and getting into trouble, and took just as much action as the Doctor or more in rescuing herself the few times she needed rescuing.  Ugh oh and then she saved the Doctor’s life like, a half dozen times in one season.  And then she took care of him in 1913 and then she took care of him in 1969, and then she spent an entire year walking hell on Earth because he asked her to, and saved the universe WITHOUT magic TARDIS or Metacrisis or universe crack powers.  What kind of a companion relies on her own strength, brains and will instead of using magic?  Truly, a terrible character worthy of hate.
Oh and you know what else?  SHE LEFT HIM.  How dare she LEAVE THE DOCTOR?  I mean, she might send the message to young women that it’s okay to get out of a relationship with someone when they treat you like your feelings don’t matter, when they ask impossible things out of you, you deliver, and he still treats you like you’re not good enough.  I mean, what a dangerous message to send to young women, that your entire life SHOULDN’T revolve around a man and you should take stock of your relationship every now and then, and if it’s making you unhappy and he makes you feel terrible about yourself, you should maybe leave him.  Next thing you know, she might make people believe that you should put your own wants and desires in your life above that of the man you love.  AS IF.
